Equens Italia S.p.A, founded in November 2008, is a joint-venture between ICBPI Group (Istituto Centrale delle Banche Popolari Italiane) and Equens SE.

The IT personnel and infrastructure assets of ICBPI were assigned to Equens Italia, to build a processing company able to provide technological solutions for the business of ICBPI and the subsidiary company Key Client Cards & Solutions.

Equens Italia offers a comprehensive solution for electronic payments management. It is the Italian leading company in ATM/POS authorization and back end processes management. It also offers all the infrastructural, software and operating services that allow banks to issue domestic debit, international debit, credit and pre-paid cards.

As outsourcer for ICBPI of Domestic Clearing of RNI, ACH and SEPA, Equens Italia provides traditional payment routing services as well as provides technological solutions for SwiftNet access that enables banks to participate in Bi-Real Target and Eba Step2 (Xct and SCT) systems, thereby minimizing new infrastructures adjustment costs.
